A massively multiplayer game based off the popular science fiction television series Battlestar Galactica is due out this fall, NBC Universal announced today.

After a marathon meeting into the early morning hours today, the Oak Park village board unanimously endorsed recommendations from the plan commission to build a 20-story glass tower at the busy downtown corner at Lake Street and Forest Avenue.

The proposal includes a 140-room hotel, 85 condominiums, two stories of retail space and a 510-space parking garage. The building will replace a 36-year-old parking deck in need of repair and a single-story retail building that was home to the Original Pancake House and a small grocery store.

It didn't take long for southwest suburban Justice police to track down the person who broke into a home and made off with weapons, ammunition and other items.

All they had to do was to follow the trail of bullets that led to the burglar's home several houses away, Justice Police Chief Robert Gedville said today.

The burglary occurred shortly after midnight on March 3, and the police were notified of it soon after the homeowner returned home. The police simply followed the bullets, still on the ground hours after the crime, from the home on the 7500 block of Garden Lane to another about four houses away. That's where they found some allegedly stolen items in the family home of Jason Quarznski, 18, Gedville said. Quarznski was arrested about noon that same day

Midway Airport ranked dead last in January for on-time departures among the nation's 29 busiest airports, the U.S. Department of Transportation reported today.

Only 69 percent of flights departing Midway left on time during the month, which was marked by several snowstorms. The low performance rating occurred despite decisions by Southwest Airlines, the carrier with the most flights at the airport, to proactively cancel hundreds of flights on the eve of bad weather.

O'Hare International Airport was far down the list as well, placing 26th out of 29 with an on-time departure rate of 74 percent, the department's Bureau of Transportation Statistics said.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport performed the best in January, with 89 percent of departing flights and 86 percent of arriving flights operating on schedule.

Seventy-eight percent of arrivals at Midway were on time during the month, earning the Southwest Side airport a 19th place ranking.
